Mark the calendar for The Great Art Heistthe Dare Arts Benefit Auction, which will open at their gallery in downtown Manteo on Friday, October 7th.

The Great Art Heist is Dare Arts’ only fundraiser of the year, so our community’s participation is essential in supporting the arts on the Outer Banks,” said event chairs Bea Basnight and Gail Midgett. “We hope you will bid in person and online for some amazing artwork and help us reach our 2022 fundraising goal.”

Bidding will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 7 in the Dare Arts Courtroom Gallery with a special reception including a live jazz performance. Online auction on will start at the same time.

“Many of our generous artists donated some of their best work to this year’s Art Heist,” said Dare Arts Gallery Director Tiffany Lindsey. “We expect the auction to be lively and competitive.”

Private viewings of The Great Art Heist will be available throughout October. To schedule a private tour with a group of friends or for your business, please email Dare Arts General Manager Jessica Sands at [email protected]

Final bids must be submitted by 8:00 p.m. on Friday, October 28.
