It comes after David Beckham handed over control of his Instagram to a Ukrainian doctor in order to shed light on the situation on the front line. Pop culture expert Nick Ede explained that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge would likely do something similar in order to “allow others who don’t have a voice to use their platform”. This, he said, will be accompanied by an increasingly “Hollywood” approach to social media, saying their followers will start seeing increasingly “well put together” films and content.
Mr Ede added that social media will be essential for the royal family in the future, as it will help them to “engage a new audience”.
While he clarified that the couple will need to be “more impartial” than a typical influencer, he said they can still use their platform “strategically”.
It comes as the family faces increasing challenges, with an increasing number of people questioning their place in society.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, Mr Ede said: “I think they’ll be more likely to do Hollywood films, which are really well put together, made by big publishers.
“But I also think they could do something like David Beckham did when he lent his Instagram to someone in Ukraine to talk about their plight, which I think is really strong.
“And that’s something they can do, to enable others who don’t have a voice to use their platform.”
He added, “They have to be a lot more impartial than an influencer, but I think they can tell stories in a really nice strategic way and really educate us.”
Over the past year, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been posting less formal photos and captions to their joint Instagram account.

“It’s really important for them to move forward, and for the role of the monarchy in the UK and beyond.
“For me, that’s really their way forward.
“If you think of a royalist, they’re usually a bit older, and when the queen dies we have to look at what the role of the royal family is and how they can become related, but can also encourage tourism and all those things. amazing they do.
“And I think it’s going to become more and more important for Kate and William to be visible.
“Kind of like Diana – to become the king and queen of the peoples, rather than the queen who is always seen as this amazing head of state, but also quite hard to reach.
“We’re all about relatability now, but I think they do.”
