ArtsQuest will host this competition in February with 21 local and regional groups
BETHLEHEM, Pa.— ArtsQuest is proud to announce the return of the 10and Annual SteelStacks High School Jazz Band Showcase presented by King, Spry, Herman, Freund & Faul, LLC with broadcast partner Service Electric. ArtsQuest, in partnership with the University of Moravia, will host 21 local and regional high school bands live on Sunday February 20 and Sunday February 27. Face covering will be mandatory to attend this event. Tickets for the event’s preliminary rounds are $7 per session and are on sale now at steelstacks.org or by calling the box office at 610.332.3378.

School jazz bands from Pennsylvania and New Jersey will perform in front of a live audience and a jury of music teachers. This annual competition is a music-in-education partnership between ArtsQuest and the Moravian University Music Department’s Jazz Studies Program. The preliminaries will take place on February 20 and Sunday February 27 and the finals will take place on Sunday March 27 at 4 p.m.

Competitors scheduled for Sunday, February 20 noon include Kutztown High School, The Hill School, LaSalle College High School Band, LaSalle College High School – Lab Band, and Delaware Valley High School (Pennsylvania). Sunday, February 20 4 p.m. session include Bangor Area High School, Wilson Area High School, William Tennent High School, and Delaware Valley High School (NJ).
Competitors scheduled for Sunday, February 27 noon include Brandywine Heights High School, Upper Moreland High School, Central Bucks High School South, North Penn High School Columbia Jazz Band, North Penn High School Navy Jazz Band, and Warren Hills High School. Sun. 27 Feb. 4 p.m. session include Freedom High School, Quakertown High School, Pocono Mountain East High School, Lehigh Valley Charter High School for the Arts, Saucon Valley High School, and Easton High School.VS
